"An urge to familiarise live sketching in speed wherever I am,
gave confidence to attempt unfamiliar subjects in villages."
The USk Reportage Grant was an opportunity to tell stories on behalf via sketch as a medium. As a Klangnite witnessing sleepy villages turned into attractions over the past decade, there is need to visually record life and landscapes in the face of change, capturing a hint from the past and realities of the present in particular daily scenes overlooked and taken granted of by locals and foreign visitors alike. Travelling to places I've then yet found any reason to, transpired into conversations and stories that found its place to be heard. It became part of a living classroom, creating and learning at the same time exploring my home state, least wondering about sharpening any sketching skills or style.
